Retech Systems LLC Profile

Retech Systems LLC is a Tonawanda, NY-based global leader in the design, engineering, manufacturing, assembly, testing, installation, and support of advanced metallurgical processing equipment.

Retech Systems LLC is a Tonawanda, NY-based global leader in the design, engineering, manufacturing, assembly, testing, installation, and support of advanced metallurgical processing equipment. Retech specializes in custom furnace systems and technologies for melting, refining, casting, atomizing, and processing reactive metals, refractory metals, titanium and titanium alloys, superalloys, specialty steels, rare-earth metals, and other advanced materials.

Retech provides highly engineered metallurgical systems for aerospace, defense, additive manufacturing, advanced materials, specialty metals, research and development, and other industries requiring precise control of metal purity, chemistry, microstructure, and processing conditions.

Core technologies include Plasma Arc Melting (PAM), Electron Beam (EB) melting, Vacuum Arc Remelting (VAR), Vacuum Induction Melting (VIM), metal powder production and atomization, precision casting furnaces, Spark Plasma Sintering (SPS), remelt material and revert handling, and specialized laboratory and R&D furnace systems.

Plasma Arc Melting capabilities include plasma cold-hearth melting, plasma consolidation, plasma arc welding, laboratory melting, plasma casting, and plasma gas atomization. These systems can process reactive and refractory metals, titanium alloys, superalloys, silicon, and other specialty materials under controlled inert atmospheres. Plasma cold-hearth systems can also process scrap, drops, runners, sponge compacts, and master alloys, making the technology valuable for both alloy production and metal recycling.

Electron Beam melting systems provide ultra-high-vacuum processing and refining for reactive and refractory metals. Retech's EB systems can incorporate cold-hearth refining to remove high- and low-density inclusions and can be custom engineered around specific material, ingot, slab, throughput, and production requirements.

Vacuum Arc Remelting systems support production of highly homogeneous, high-quality metal ingots and castings. VAR technology can process titanium alloys, nickel superalloys, stainless and alloy steels, nitinol, zirconium, niobium, tantalum, platinum, rhodium, and other high-value materials. Systems range from laboratory-scale equipment to large production furnaces capable of processing many tons.

Vacuum Induction Melting capabilities support alloy development and production for applications ranging from automotive and commercial products to critical aerospace components. Retech VIM technologies include alloy melting systems, cold-wall induction systems, laboratory-scale furnaces, and precision investment-casting solutions.

Retech also designs equipment for metal powder production, including advanced atomization systems used to manufacture controlled metal powders for additive manufacturing, powder metallurgy, and other advanced-material applications.

Casting technologies support ingot production, alloy development, precision investment casting, equiaxed components, directionally solidified components, and single-crystal components for demanding aerospace and industrial applications.

Retech is a highly vertically integrated furnace manufacturer with extensive in-house engineering and manufacturing resources. Engineering capabilities include custom equipment design, mechanical engineering, stress analysis, welding technology, electrical and electronic controls, CAD, 3D modeling, process development, material development, and system integration.

Manufacturing capabilities support everything from large custom furnace weldments to highly detailed components. Retech can fully assemble and test equipment prior to shipment, allowing customers to validate system functionality and processing performance before installation and commissioning.

Additional services include research and development, toll melting, process development, material development, equipment installation and commissioning, furnace upgrades and retrofits, replacement parts, equipment service, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, technical support, and aftermarket customer service.
