Through its Career and Technical Education (CTE) and Workforce Development programs, Erie 1 BOCES provides hands-on training in manufacturing and skilled trades, including CNC machining, welding, engineering and robotics, electronics and applied technology, electrical systems, HVAC, building trades, automotive technology, aviation technology, cybersecurity and networking, and other technical fields. Programs are developed with industry partners and professionals to provide learners with practical, job-ready skills.

Manufacturing-focused training includes CNC machining, where students learn to set up and operate CNC mills and lathes while developing precision machining and measurement skills. Welding training includes MIG/GMAW, TIG/GTAW, stick/SMAW, flux-cored welding, plasma cutting, oxy-fuel cutting, print reading, fabrication, shop safety, and OSHA 10-hour training. Erie 1 BOCES also offers engineering, robotics, electronics, and applied technology pathways that help prepare the next generation of technical and manufacturing talent.

Erie 1 BOCES works with employers to strengthen connections between education and industry through internships, work-based learning, career preparation, employer referrals, and industry partnerships. Career services also help learners transition into employment through resume assistance, interview preparation, job-search support, and connections with employers.
