Manufacturing Skills Standrads Council

UB TCIE is introducing a new manufacturing training course that educates individuals in the core knowledge and skills required for frontline manufacturing jobs. Certified Production Technician (CPT) training will debut through an “Advanced Manufacturing Skills Gap Consortium.”

CPT training is based on federally-endorsed national standards and was developed by the Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC), an industry-led training, assessment and certification system. The 140-hour course features four production modules: safety, quality practices and measurement, manufacturing processes and production, and maintenance awareness. It is composed of web-based education supported by interactive, hands-on classroom learning. Successful completion results in earning a portable and stackable credential.
